Does a Sub-Contractor need to be licensed?

Modified on Thu, 31 Jul at 4:12 PM

It is the sole responsibility of the Applicant to find an eligible licensed Contractor and manage their relationship with the Contractor. Typically, the General Contractor oversees the project and any Sub-Contractors that are hired.

If a Sub-Contractor submits an invoice in lieu of the General Contractor as part of the Draw Request, the Sub-Contractor must meet the same requirements as the General Contractor. These requirements are 1) license is active, and 2) license is certified or registered with Florida's Department of Business & Professional Regulation (DBPR).
