Applicants must request a MSFH Program Final Inspections upon completion of a Mitigation Project(s) before proceeding to the Draw Request stage.
Before Requesting a Final Inspection:
- Confirm with the Contractor(s) that all Mitigation Projects are complete. You are not required to perform every eligible Recommended Improvement from the Initial Inspection Report. However, if you are completing multiple, they must all be finished before requesting a Final Inspection.
- Confirm that the work outlined in the Initial Inspection Report was performed in accordance with local guidelines, current state building codes, and MSFH Program Guidelines in the Homeowners Guide.
- Confirm that all permits are closed out and the local Building Inspector's Office has completed all required building inspections. A local Building Inspector's Office will have an inspection that is separate from the MSFH Program Final Inspection.
Requesting a Final Inspection:
Homeowners must enter the Applicant Portal and complete the following step to request a Final Inspection.
1. "Draw Request - Final Inspection Request"
- Start by reading the information included on the step and click the checkboxes to confirm that you are ready to proceed with requesting a Final Inspection.
- Click to electronically sign. Individuals will not be able to edit this information once the step has been completed.
- Select "Complete & Continue" to move forward with the request.
After Requesting a Final Inspection:
After completing this step, you will not see an immediate change to your case. Please refresh your browser to see the status change to "Final Inspection Requested” There is no further action you need to take at this time. Your assigned Inspection Company will be reaching out to you shortly to schedule.
PLEASE NOTE: If the Recommended Improvements are not installed correctly, you will not receive Grant funding for the work completed incorrectly.
