Applicants who have not yet received a MSFH Initial Inspection are able to complete the Prioritization Questionnaire in MSFH 2.0 to be sorted into an Inspection Group for accessing the Inspection Application. The system version has no impact on your case or funding eligibility.

Before Inspection Application:
- Prioritization Questionnaire must have been completed and the window open for your Group to access the Inspection Application.
Check to ensure your screen reflects My Safe Florida Home 2.0 Program and your case status reads “Inspection Group 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5”. Your Prioritization Group will determine the date an application will be available to you.
When your window is open, click the continue button in the Application to begin.
Submitting the Inspection Application:
Homeowners must enter the Applicant Portal and complete the following steps:
1. "Introduction: Inspection Phase" - contains an overview of information regarding the Inspection
Application and overall Inspection Phase of the Program.
- Carefully review the provided information on the Application steps and requirements.
- Confirm that you have read the Introduction and understand that approval for a Hurricane Mitigation Inspection through the MSFH Program is NOT an approval for a Hurricane Mitigation Grant.
- Select "Complete & Continue" on the step to move forward.
2. "Homestead & Home Type Information" - contains important information regarding homestead
exemption and property qualifications for the Initial Inspections.
- Click the checkbox to confirm that the status of your homestead exemption and type of property will be reviewed as a part of the Inspection Application to determine eligibility.
- If you have specific questions regarding your property details as they are listed on the county’s Property Appraiser or Tax Collector’s website, you can contact those respective departments directly for additional information.
- Select "Complete & Continue" on the step to move forward.
3. "Inspection Application Submit" contains statements to confirm all information provided is true
and correct and program guidelines to note before proceeding.
- Start by reading the statement regarding income and family size information and click the checkbox to declare that this information is true and accurate.
- Keep in mind, qualifying for and receiving an Initial Inspection does not automatically make a Homeowner eligible or guarantee that the property will receive a MSFH Program Grant to perform any Improvements recommended by the Initial Inspection Report, and that a subsequent separate MSFH Program Grant Application will need be submitted for Grant eligibility.
- Some Applications will undergo a Quality Control review which may delay review completion.
- Finally, click the checkbox to confirm that all information provided in the Inspection Application steps is true and accurate.
- Double-check the information provided to confirm it is correct before selecting "Complete" to submit the Inspection Application. Individuals will not be able to edit this information once the step has been completed.
After Submitting the Inspection Application:
After submitting, you won’t see an immediate change in your case. If you refresh your screen, you will see the status now change to “Inspection Application Submitted”. Please continue to monitor your case status in the Applicant Portal regularly to see any updates.
If the MSFH Program is unable to approve an application, you will be sent a Request for Information (RFI). This is an email or task outlining the additional information or documentation needed to move forward in processing the case.
If you do not respond to the Request for Information (RFI) within 60 days, the application will be deemed withdrawn and administratively closed. Closed cases cannot be reopened, so ensure you check your case and your email regularly.
