Modified on Thu, 28 May at 1:51 PM

The Grant Application in MSFH 1.0 (for Applicants who received a MSFH Initial Inspection before August 4, 2025) is made up of two stages: Eligibility Confirmation and Contractor Confirmation. Homeowners must provide all required information and documentation to receive Grant Application approval.

The following link can take you directly to the Applicant Portal: MSFH Applicant Portal

Submitting the Contractor Confirmation:

If your case status is "Pending Contractor Confirmation" you must re-enter the Applicant Portal (Neighborly) and fill out the next two steps to ensure submission of a Grant Application:

1. "Grant Application - Contractor Confirmation"

  • Select AT LEAST ONE mitigation project by selecting recommended Improvements from the list. If no checkboxes appear on the screen, your Initial Inspection Report did not identify any recommended Improvements. Homeowners who have not received any recommended Improvements will not be able to utilize a Hurricane Mitigation Grant and therefore cannot move to the next state of the process.
  • Enter selected Contractor's information for review using the respective fields.
  • Select "Complete & Continue" on the step to move forward. Individuals will not be able to edit this information once the step has been completed.

2. "Submit Contractor Confirmation" contains statements to confirm all information provided is             true and correct.

  • Read the statements and confirm understanding of all information presented on the screen.
  • Click the blue box to insert an electronic signature. When the pop-up opens, enter the full legal name and click "Sign" to submit the electronic signature. This shall be considered as an original signature for all purposes and shall have the same force and effect as an original signature.
  • Double-check the information provided to confirm it is correct before selecting "Submit" to submit the Eligibility Confirmation. Individuals will not be able to edit this information once the step has been completed.

After Submitting the Contractor Confirmation:

Once submitted, you are encouraged to regularly log back into the Applicant Portal to check for case status updates You can review a list of case status terms and what they mean here: MSFH Portal Terms.

PLEASE NOTE: If the MSFH Program is unable to approve an application, you will be sent a Request for Information (RFI). This is an email or task outlining the additional information or documentation needed to move forward in processing the case. If you do not respond to the Request for Information (RFI) within 60 days, the application will be deemed withdrawn and administratively closed. Closed cases cannot be reopened, so ensure you check your case and your email regularly.
