How do I verify a Contractor's license?

Choosing a Contractor, and how you work with them, is completely your choice as the Homeowner. You may want to talk with a few different companies and explain the program rules before you begin. This helps make sure you understand the requirements to choose an eligible Contractor, and ensures everyone understands what the Program will and will not pay for. 

If you do not use a properly licensed Contractor or complete a Recommended Improvement as outlined in the Initial Inspection Report, you will not receive Grant funds. 

Please see the following guidelines:

1. The Homeowner must provide the name and license number of the Contractor(s) chosen during the Contractor Confirmation sections of the Grant Application to be reviewed. 
2. The Contractor's license must be certified or registered with Florida's Department of Business & Professional Regulation (DBPR). Ensuring the Contractor is appropriately licensed is the responsibility of the Homeowner. To verify the license of your intended Contractor please visit the DBPR website here.
