INSPECTION AND GRANT APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN!
We’ve made some enhancements to the Applicant Portal. While the layout may look a bit different, the overall process remains unchanged. If you have already received approval for a Grant, your process will not be interrupted.
Applicants who HAVE previously received a MSFH Initial Inspection are able to complete the Prioritization Questionnaire in My Safe Florida Home 1.0 to be sorted into a Grant Group for accessing the Grant Application. Applicants who HAVE NOT yet received a MSFH Initial Inspection are able to complete the Prioritization Questionnaire in My Safe Florida Home 2.0 to be sorted into an Inspection Group for accessing the Inspection Application. The system version has no effect on case processing or funding eligibility.
Once you submit your Prioritization Questionnaire, your case will be sorted into a Prioritization Group. Your Prioritization Group will determine the date an Inspection or Grant Application will be available to you. If the MSFH Program runs out of available funding prior to the date your Group is to be opened, you will not be able to apply for an Inspection or Grant.
On the applicable date, you may complete and submit the Inspection or Grant Application in the Applicant Portal:
Access to the Inspection and Grant Applications for all dates is available at 8AM EST.
*Group 5 Applicants are ineligible for Grants and will not be allowed to access Grant Application.

Hi Cynthia! If an Applicant applies and is approved for a free MSFH Program Initial Inspection, a MSFH Program Inspector will be assigned to complete the Initial Inspection. The Applicant will receive an email from the MSFH Program, providing the name and contact information of the assigned Inspector. The Inspector will contact the Applicant within seven (7) days to schedule the Initial Inspection. Applicants are not able to choose the Inspector for the Hurricane Mitigation Inspection

It shows that my case has been closed and marked as a duplicate. Could you please provide clarification on why this occurred and what steps I should take to proceed?

Once the Mitigation Inspection is completed, eligible Applicants will move into the "Indicate Interest in Grant Application" case status. At this point you are encouraged to re-enter the case to read some introductory information regarding the Grant Applicant and indicate to the Program if you would like to move forward. Once this step is completed, Applicants move to the "Pending Grant Group Sorting" case status and will be sorted into the applicable Grant Groups for accessing the Grant Application.

In 2024, the My Safe Florida Home Program began prioritizing applications to the Program based on age and income.
Applicants who HAVE previously received a MSFH Initial Inspection are able to complete the Prioritization Questionnaire in MSFH 1.0 to be sorted into a Grant Group for accessing the Grant Application.
The Applicant is sorted into a Grant Groups based on the age, household, and income data they provide. For the first sixty (60) days after the MSFH Program opens, Applicants receive access to Grant Applications based on criteria outlined by the Florida Legislature. Grant Group 5 contains Applicants of all ages who are above the Moderate-Income threshold. Group 5 Applicants are ineligible for Grants and will not be allowed to access Grant Application.
Applicants who HAVE NOT yet received a MSFH Initial Inspection are able to complete the Prioritization Questionnaire in MSFH 2.0 to be sorted into an Inspection Group for accessing the Inspection Application.
The Applicant is sorted into an Inspection Groups based on the age, household, and income data they provide. For the first sixty (60) days after the MSFH Program opens, Applicants receive access to Inspection Applications based on criteria outlined by the Florida Legislature.
PLEASE NOTE: Entering demographic information in the Prioritization Questionnaire is NOT considered the Inspection Application or Grant Application.
