How do I know when my project is complete?

Homeowners should follow the steps listed below closely to request a Final Inspection:

  1. Consult with the Contractor and the Improvements that were recommended by the MSFH Program Initial Inspection Report were made and meet all state, local, and MSFH Program improvement standards (i.e., impact windows/doors were installed, RTW connections were installed correctly, SWR were properly installed).

  2. Confirm that the Mitigation Project has been completed and all required permits for the work have been obtained and closed.

PLEASE NOTE: If the Recommended Improvements are not installed correctly, the MSFH Program will not reimburse for those Improvements.

PLEASE NOTE: My Safe Florida Home Program and the Florida Department of Financial Services (DFS) are not involved in or responsible for the Contractor selection process or any aspects of the construction and payment process. The Program assumes no responsibility for the performance of the Homeowner’s selected Contractor. It is the sole responsibility of the Homeowner to find and manage an eligible Contractor and oversee the Contractor relationship.
