Homeowners who received a MSFH Initial Inspection BEFORE August 4, 2025, are operating in My Safe Florida Home 1.0. These individuals are able to enter the Applicant Portal to complete the Prioritization Questionnaire ahead of Grant Applications opening in August. The following link can take you directly to the Applicant Portal: MSFH Applicant Portal
The system version has no impact on your case or funding eligibility.
Once the Prioritization Questionnaire is submitted, your case will be sorted into a Prioritization Group. Your Prioritization Group will determine the date an Inspection or Grant Application will be available to you. If the MSFH Program runs out of available funding prior to the date your Group is to be opened, you will not be able to apply for an Inspection or Grant.
The following steps can be used to navigate My Safe Florida Home 1.0:
Step 1: Apply for a Hurricane Mitigation Grant
- The Homeowner submits a Grant Application via the Applicant Portal on https://mysafeflhome.com/.
- The Grant Application is made up of two stages:
- Eligibility Confirmation; and
- Contractor Confirmation
- Homeowners must provide all required information and documentation to receive Grant Application approval.
Step 2: Complete a Hurricane Mitigation Project
- The Homeowner works with their Contractor to complete a Mitigation Project for improvements on the home, based on the recommendations in the Initial Inspection Report. The Program allows each Homeowner to receive only one (1) Grant Reimbursement/Disbursement and one (1) Final Inspection.
Step 3: Schedule a Final Inspection
- Upon completion of the Mitigation Project, the Homeowner schedules a Final Inspection for the Inspector to observe any improvements that were successfully completed on the home.
Step 4: Receive a Final Inspection Report
- The Inspector uploads the Final Inspection Report to the Applicant Portal.
Step 5: Submit a Draw Request
- The Homeowner submits a Draw Request via the Applicant Portal on https://mysafeflhome.com/.
- Homeowners must provide all required information and documentation to receive Draw Request approval.
- Only improvements that are recommended in the Initial Inspection Report and observed in the Final Inspection Report are eligible for Grant Reimbursement/Disbursement.
If you are a Homeowner who has already received Grant Approval prior to August 4th, 2025, and are currently working on eligible Recommended Improvements, the above order of steps can still be followed to receive a MSFH Final Inspection and ready to submit a Draw Request.
