A Hurricane Mitigation Inspection is a home inspection performed by a Wind Certification Entity (“Inspector” or “Inspection Company”) paid for by the MSFH Program.
These Inspections show if your home has Hurricane Resistant Features. These are features that help a house stay safe during strong winds. The MSFH Program Inspection does not look at the age or condition of your home. This means even if your home is old or worn, you may not get any recommended improvements if you already have all the Hurricane Resistant Features in place.
PLEASE NOTE: An approval for a Hurricane Mitigation Inspection through the MSFH Program is not an approval for a Hurricane Mitigation Grant.
