Improvement 3.0 - Roof Deck Attachment

Modified on Fri, 6 Mar at 1:42 PM

The Roof Deck Attachment can be made stronger by adding more nails or using longer nails. These nails help connect the roof boards (usually plywood) to the trusses or rafters in the attic.

When a roof is installed under the current building code, a licensed Roofing Contractor will make sure the roof boards are nailed in with the correct type of nails and the right spacing. This helps keep the roof deck attached during strong winds and may help the home qualify for windstorm mitigation discounts.
